Hydrofoil
A hydrofoil is a specialized boat or aircraft feature that uses underwater wings called foils to lift the vessel above the water as it gains speed. When moving fast enough, the foils generate lift similar to airplane wings, reducing the hull's contact with water. This decreases drag and allows for smoother, faster travel with less resistance. Hydrofoils are commonly used in racing boats, advanced ferries, and some personal watercraft, providing improved efficiency and stability. Essentially, hydrofoils enable vessels to glide above the water surface, improving speed and fuel efficiency while reducing water impact.
