Hydrocele

A hydrocele is a swelling in the scrotum, the pouch that holds the testicles in men. It occurs when fluid accumulates around one or both testicles, often leading to a noticeable bulge. Hydroceles can be present at birth or develop later due to injury, infection, or other medical conditions. They are generally painless and are often harmless. While many hydroceles resolve on their own, if they cause discomfort or persist, a doctor may recommend treatment, which can include aspiration (removing fluid) or surgery. Regular check-ups ensure proper monitoring and management.
