The Hungarian Kingdom was a medieval and early modern state centered in Central Europe, existing from the 10th century until 1918. It was established when the Magyars (early Hungarians) unified the region, with the Kingdom's first king, Stephen I, consolidating Christianity and central authority. Over centuries, it expanded and contracted due to wars, alliances, and empire influences, notably under the Habsburgs. The kingdom played a crucial role in European politics, culture, and military conflicts. After World War I, it was dissolved, leading to the modern nation of Hungary.
