Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA)
The Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA) is a specialized computer-based device used by eye care professionals to assess a person’s visual field, specifically their peripheral vision. During the test, the patient looks into the machine and presses a button whenever they see a light flash in different parts of their vision. This helps detect and monitor conditions like glaucoma by revealing areas where peripheral vision may be reduced or lost. The HFA provides detailed maps of visual sensitivity, allowing for early diagnosis and effective management of eye diseases that affect sight.
