Humpback whale
Humpback whales are large marine mammals known for their distinctive body shape, with long pectoral fins and a knobby head. They grow up to 60 feet long and weigh around 40 tons. These whales are social, often forming groups called pods, and are famous for their complex songs used during mating rituals. They feed mainly on small fish and krill, using strategies like bubble net feeding to trap prey. Humpbacks migrate long distances between feeding grounds in cold polar waters and breeding areas in warm tropical waters, making them one of the most widely traveled whale species.
