Humeral fracture
A humeral fracture is a broken upper arm bone, called the humerus, often caused by falls, trauma, or accidents. Symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, limited arm movement, and sometimes visible deformity. Diagnosis is made through physical examination and X-rays. Treatment depends on the severity and location of the break but may involve immobilization with a cast or brace, and in more severe cases, surgery to realign the bone and stabilize it with pins or plates. Recovery varies but typically takes several weeks to months, during which physical therapy helps restore strength and mobility.
