Human digestive system

The human digestive system is a series of organs that work together to break down food, absorb nutrients, and eliminate waste. Food travels from the mouth, where it’s chewed and mixed with saliva, to the stomach that further breaks it down with acids. Nutrients are then absorbed in the small intestine, which feeds into the large intestine, where water is absorbed and stool forms. Waste is eventually expelled through the rectum and anus. This system allows your body to obtain energy and nutrients necessary for growth, repair, and daily functions.
