Hulusi Behçet
Hulusi Behçet was a Turkish dermatologist who, in the early 20th century, identified a disease that now bears his name: Behçet's disease. This rare and chronic condition causes inflammation of blood vessels and can lead to symptoms such as recurrent mouth and genital ulcers, skin lesions, and eye problems. Behçet's disease is believed to result from an autoimmune response, where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues. The exact cause remains unclear, and while there is no cure, treatments focus on managing symptoms and reducing inflammation to improve patients' quality of life.
