Hula Dance

Hula dance is a traditional Hawaiian art form that combines graceful movements, storytelling, and music to convey legends, history, and cultural values. Dancers use hand gestures, footwork, and body language to depict natural elements, animals, and ancestral narratives, often accompanied by chanting or singing. There are two main styles: Hula Kahiko (ancient, performed to traditional chant and drums) and Hula Auana (more modern, performed with melodies and instruments like ukulele). Hula embodies spirituality, respect, and connection to the land, serving as a vibrant expression of Hawaiian identity and storytelling.
