Huastec
The Huastec people are an indigenous group located mainly in the northeastern region of Mexico, particularly in Veracruz, San Luis PotosÃ, and Tamaulipas. Their culture is characterized by unique traditional practices, languages, and customs that are distinct from other Indigenous groups in Mexico. The Huastec language, part of the larger Maya language family, reflects their rich heritage. Historically, they were known for their agricultural skills, fishing, and vibrant arts, including music and dance. Today, the Huastec continue to preserve their cultural identity while facing challenges related to modernization and cultural assimilation.
