Hrant Dink

Hrant Dink was a Turkish-Armenian journalist and editor known for advocating dialogue and understanding between Turks and Armenians, especially regarding the Armenian Genocide. He founded the newspaper Agos, promoting minority rights and challenging nationalist narratives. His efforts aimed to foster reconciliation and open discussion about Turkey’s history. Tragically, Dink was assassinated in 2007 by a nationalist extremist, highlighting the tensions surrounding these sensitive issues in Turkey. His death sparked international concern about free speech, minority rights, and the need for dialogue in overcoming historical grievances.
