Howard's Law
Howard’s Law states that the frequency of a particular word in a language tends to follow a predictable pattern described by Zipf's Law. Specifically, the second most common word appears about half as often as the most common, the third about one-third, and so on. This reveals that in any language, a small number of words are used very frequently, while many others are used rarely. Understanding this pattern helps in fields like linguistics, computer science, and information retrieval by predicting word usage and optimizing language processing systems.
