House of Stewart
The House of Stewart (or Stuart) was a Scottish royal family that became kings of Scotland and later of England and Ireland. It originated in the 14th century and rose to prominence with King Robert II in 1371. The Stewarts are known for significant historical events, including the unification of the crowns in 1603 when James VI of Scotland became James I of England. They ruled during impactful periods such as the Renaissance and the English Civil War, and their legacy includes both triumphs and conflicts. The dynasty ended with Queen Anne in 1714, leading to the Hanoverian succession.
