House of Representatives (U.S.)
The U.S. House of Representatives is one of the two chambers of Congress, responsible for making federal laws. It consists of 435 members, called Representatives, who are elected to two-year terms from districts across different states, with each state’s number of Representatives based on its population. The House initiates revenue and spending bills and has the authority to impeach federal officials. It works alongside the Senate to debate, pass, and amend legislation, representing the interests of their constituents and ensuring accountability in the federal government.
