Hose-and-Drogue
Hose-and-Drogue is a method used to transfer fuel or cargo between aircraft or ships, allowing them to stay connected while moving. It involves a flexible hose (the "hose") trailing behind the receiver aircraft or ship, with a funnel-shaped or conical device (the "drogue") at the end. The receiver aircraft or vessel guides the drogue into a matching basket or probe connected to the sender, facilitating a secure transfer without stopping or pilot contact. This system enhances operational efficiency and safety during refueling or cargo transfer at considerable speeds and distances.
