Horse Warfare

Horse warfare refers to the use of mounted soldiers, called cavalry, in military combat. Historically, horses provided mobility, speed, and strategic advantage, allowing soldiers to quickly maneuver, flank enemies, and execute raids. Cavalry units were equipped with weapons like swords, lances, and bows, and played crucial roles in battles from ancient times through the medieval period. Their role diminished with advances in firearms but remained important in certain terrains and contexts. Horse warfare fundamentally changed military tactics by introducing rapid movement, increased reach, and more dynamic battlefield engagements.
