Hormonal feedback loops are systems our bodies use to maintain balance in hormone levels. When a hormone is too high or too low, sensors detect this change and signal the brain or glands to adjust production accordingly. For example, if calcium levels drop, the parathyroid glands release more parathyroid hormone to increase calcium, and once levels normalize, production decreases. This ongoing communication ensures hormones stay within healthy ranges, coordinating functions like growth, metabolism, and mood, and preventing imbalance that could lead to health issues.
