Horace Wells

Horace Wells was an American dentist in the mid-1800s who pioneered modern anesthesia. He discovered that nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, could temporarily eliminate pain during dental procedures. After recognizing its potential, he demonstrated its use publicly, helping to revolutionize surgery by reducing patient suffering.
