Honeydew (fruit)
Honeydew is a sweet, juicy melon belonging to the cucurbit family, closely related to cantaloupe and watermelon. It has a smooth, pale green or yellowish rind and a soft, pale green flesh inside that is high in water content, making it very refreshing. Honeydews are rich in vitamins, particularly vitamin C and potassium, and are often enjoyed raw in fruit salads, as a snack, or in desserts. They thrive in warm climates and are harvested during the summer months. Because of their mild flavor and hydrating qualities, honeydews are popular for cooling, healthy eating.
