Homozygous Recessive

Homozygous recessive refers to a genetic situation where an individual inherits two copies of a recessive gene, one from each parent. Recessive genes usually require two copies to show their trait or condition, since one dominant gene can mask their effect. For example, if someone is homozygous recessive for a trait like blue eyes, they have two copies of the blue-eye gene. This means only people with two recessive copies will display the trait, while those with just one dominant and one recessive will not.
