Homo naledi
Homo naledi is an extinct species of early human that lived around 300,000 to 250,000 years ago in Africa. It had a mix of primitive traits, like a small brain about 465-610 cubic centimeters (roughly a third the size of modern humans), and more advanced features, such as human-like hands and legs suitable for walking and climbing. Its discovery in South Africa’s Rising Star Cave provided important insights into human evolution, showing that different early human species with varied brain sizes and physical features coexisted, and that brain size alone doesn't determine complex behavior or intelligence.
