Homily
A homily is a short, spoken message or talk given by a religious leader, such as a priest or pastor, usually during a church service. Its main purpose is to interpret and explain the scripture readings from the Bible, helping the congregation understand how those teachings apply to everyday life. Homilies often offer moral guidance, encouragement, and spiritual insight, aiming to inspire and deepen the faith of those listening. While common in Christian worship, similar sermons or reflections exist in other religious traditions to foster reflection and spiritual growth.
