Homesteaders

Homesteaders are individuals or families who acquire land—often through government programs or legal means—with the intention of developing it for settlement or agricultural use. Historically, especially in countries like the United States and Canada, homesteaders would often receive land grants under policies encouraging settlement of frontier areas. They typically built homes, cultivated crops, and raised livestock, transforming wilderness into productive property. Today, the term still refers to people working on small-scale farms or rural properties, emphasizing self-sufficiency and building a life through their own labor and resources.
