Homeowners Associations (HOA)

Homeowners Associations (HOAs) are organizations in residential communities that manage shared spaces and enforce community rules. Typically, properties in an HOA pay monthly or annual fees for maintenance of common areas, such as parks, swimming pools, and landscaping. HOAs establish guidelines about property appearance, noise levels, and other community standards to maintain a certain aesthetic and living environment. While HOAs can foster community cohesion, they also have the authority to impose fines or take other actions against homeowners who don’t comply with their regulations. Homeowners usually vote on board members to represent their interests in the association.
