It typically collects dues from members to maintain amenities like parks, pools, or landscaping, and ensures that residents follow agreed-upon standards to preserve property values. Membership usually comes automatically when purchasing a home in the area, and the HOA’s rules are outlined in a covenant agreement. While it provides benefits like maintained common areas, members are also expected to abide by the association’s regulations.
