Holm-Bonferroni method

The Holm-Bonferroni method is a statistical technique used to reduce the chance of false discoveries when testing multiple hypotheses simultaneously. It adjusts the thresholds for significance: starting with the smallest p-value, it compares it to a stricter threshold, and if it’s significant, it moves to the next, with increasingly less strict thresholds. This process controls the overall error rate while maintaining more statistical power than simpler methods. Essentially, it helps researchers confidently identify true effects without wrongly declaring results as significant just by chance.
