Hobo School
Hobo School is an informal, self-organized community or set of resources where travelers, often called "hobos," share knowledge and skills related to living and traveling hitchhiking or freight hopping. It emerged in the early 20th century as a way for itinerants to exchange survival techniques, safety tips, and ways to find work or shelter on the road. While not a formal institution, Hobo School symbolizes the collective effort of transient workers to support one another through shared education and camaraderie, emphasizing independence, resourcefulness, and mutual aid.
