Hobbesian Social Contract

The Hobbesian Social Contract is the idea that individuals in a society agree, either explicitly or implicitly, to give up certain freedoms and submit to an authority—like a ruler or government—to ensure safety and stability. In a state of nature without rules, life can be chaotic and dangerous. By cooperating and accepting a common authority, people create order, protection, and peace. Hobbes believed this contract is essential to avoid chaos and ensure a functioning society where individuals can live securely.
