HMS Queen Mary
HMS Queen Mary was a British Royal Navy aircraft carrier commissioned in 1955. It was a large warship designed to carry and launch airplanes, serving primarily during the Cold War era. With a displacement of around 20,000 tons, it had flat decks for aircraft takeoff and landing. The ship played a key role in NATO defense and maritime security, showcasing advanced technology of its time. Decommissioned in 1979, HMS Queen Mary was eventually scrapped, but it remains a notable example of mid-20th-century naval engineering and Britain's maritime defense history.
