HMS Courageous
HMS Courageous was a British Royal Navy aircraft carrier built in the 1950s. It served as a platform to launch and recover military aircraft, enabling naval air power during the Cold War. The ship was designed to support naval operations, including reconnaissance, anti-submarine warfare, and air defense. It was equipped with aircraft and technology to project power, gather intelligence, and protect allied interests. Courageous played a key role in naval exercises and missions until it was decommissioned and later sunk as part of a training exercise in 2001.
