HMS Conqueror was a British Royal Navy submarine launched in 1986. It was a ballistic missile submarine, designed to carry and launch nuclear missiles as part of the UK’s strategic nuclear deterrent. Conqueror was notable for its advanced technology and stealth, allowing it to operate undetected for long periods. In 1982, it gained historical prominence by sinking the Argentine cruiser General Belgrano during the Falklands War. Operated until 1997, it played a key role in national defense, symbolizing Britain’s underwater strategic capabilities during the Cold War era.
