Hmong language
The Hmong language is a member of the Hmong-Mien language family, primarily spoken by the Hmong people across Southeast Asia and immigrant communities worldwide. It features tonal pronunciation, meaning pitch differences change word meanings, and has various dialects that can be quite distinct. The language uses the Romanized Popular Alphabet (RPA) for written communication, developed to standardize spelling and literacy. Hmong plays a vital role in preserving cultural identity, storytelling, rituals, and oral traditions. While sharing some linguistic features with neighboring languages, it remains unique, reflecting the rich heritage and history of the Hmong people.
