HMAS Ovens (S 70)

HMAS Ovens (S 70) is a Collins-class submarine of the Royal Australian Navy. Launched in 1990, it is designed for anti-submarine warfare, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The Ovens is equipped with advanced sonar and weaponry, allowing it to operate effectively in various environments. With a maximum depth capability of around 250 meters, it is notable for its stealth and agility underwater. Named after the Ovens River in Victoria, Australia, it is part of a fleet that enhances Australia's maritime security and strategic capabilities. The submarine decommissioned in 2021, having served more than three decades.
