HMAS Adelaide (L01) was an amphibious assault ship of the Royal Australian Navy, designed to transport and deploy troops, vehicles, and equipment for military operations. As a "landing platform dock," it combined a large deck for helicopters and landing craft with extensive internal spaces for soldiers and supplies. It enabled the Navy to project force onto shores and support humanitarian missions. Built in the 1980s, HMAS Adelaide served until 2019, playing key roles in national defense, international peacekeeping, and disaster relief efforts, showcasing versatility in both combat and humanitarian applications.
