HIV Cure Research

HIV cure research aims to find ways to eliminate or control the virus so that people living with HIV can stop medication without it coming back. Scientists are exploring different strategies, such as targeting hidden reservoirs of the virus in the body, developing medications that can completely clear the infection, and using innovative approaches like gene editing or immune system engineering. While current treatments control HIV effectively, they don't cure it. The goal of ongoing research is to find a safe, effective cure that allows individuals to live free of lifelong medication.
