HIV-associated malignancies

HIV-associated malignancies are cancers that occur more frequently in people with HIV because the virus weakens the immune system. This makes it harder for the body to fight off abnormal cell growth and infections that can lead to cancer. Common HIV-related cancers include Kaposi's sarcoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and invasive cervical cancer. Although effective HIV treatment can reduce the risk by boosting immunity, regular medical care and screening are important for early detection and management of these cancers.
