History of Andalusia

Andalusia, in southern Spain, has a rich history marked by diverse cultures. It was home to the ancient Iberians, then conquered by the Romans, who left towns and roads. Later, the Moors from North Africa arrived in the 8th century, establishing a flourishing Islamic civilization with cities like Córdoba and Granada. Reconquista Christian kingdoms gradually reclaimed the territory by the 15th century, ending with the fall of Granada in 1492. Today, Andalusia reflects this blend of influences, evident in its architecture, language, and traditions, making it a region of deep historical and cultural significance.
