Historically Black Colleges and Universities Act

The Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Act is legislation aimed at supporting and strengthening HBCUs—institutions founded primarily to serve the African American community during times of segregation and segregationist policies. The act seeks to provide funding, resources, and policy support to enhance the quality of education at these institutions, promote their stability and growth, and recognize their cultural and historical importance.
