Hispaniola (ship)
The Hispaniola was a historic ship used during the Age of Exploration, notably by Christopher Columbus in 1492. It was a small carrack, a type of large sailing vessel designed for long ocean voyages. The ship played a key role in Columbus’s journey to the New World, transporting explorers, crew, and supplies across the Atlantic. Its design allowed for both cargo capacity and maneuverability in open seas. The Hispaniola symbolizes early European exploration and maritime innovation, though it was eventually replaced by larger ships as navigation technology advanced.
