Hippocrates of Kos (Historical Physician)

Hippocrates of Kos (c. 460–370 BCE) was an ancient Greek physician often referred to as the "Father of Medicine." He is best known for establishing a systematic approach to clinical practice and separating medicine from superstition and religion. Hippocrates emphasized careful observation and documentation of patients’ symptoms and treatments. He is also associated with the Hippocratic Corpus, a collection of medical texts that form the basis of Western medical ethics, including the Hippocratic Oath, which outlines principles of medical conduct, emphasizing patient care and confidentiality. His influence laid the groundwork for modern medical practice.
