Hip Hemiarthroplasty

Hip hemiarthroplasty is a surgical procedure where only the damaged part of the hip joint called the femoral head (the ball at the top of the thigh bone) is replaced with a metal or plastic prosthesis. This operation is typically performed to treat a fractured hip or severe joint damage, especially in elderly patients. The socket of the hip remains natural. The goal is to relieve pain, improve mobility, and restore function. Recovery involves physical therapy, and the procedure usually results in significant pain relief and better movement for patients.
