Himalayan tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus)

The Himalayan tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus) is a wild goat native to the rugged mountain regions of Nepal, India, and Tibet. It features a sturdy, barrel-shaped body covered in thick, reddish-brown or greyish fur, well-suited for cold climates. Adapted to steep, rocky terrains, it has strong, curved horns and specialized hooves that provide grip on cliff faces. Himalayan tahrs are herbivores, mainly grazing on grasses, shrubs, and mosses.
