High Pressure System

A high pressure system is an area where the atmospheric pressure is higher than the surrounding regions. It forms when cool, dense air sinks toward the Earth's surface, spreading outwards as it descends. This usually results in stable weather conditions with clear skies and little to no precipitation. High pressure systems are associated with dry, sunny weather because the sinking air suppresses cloud formation. They often bring calm, fair conditions, and tend to move slowly, influencing weather patterns over large areas. These systems are important in weather forecasting as they help predict periods of stable, pleasant weather.
