HIFiRE
HIFiRE (Hypersonic International Flight Research Experimentation) is a joint program between the United States and Australia focused on developing and testing technologies for hypersonic flight—traveling at least five times faster than sound. The program involves designing, building, and flying experimental aircraft and systems to better understand how vehicles behave at such extreme speeds. Goals include improving defense capabilities, enabling rapid global transportation, and advancing aerospace technology. Through collaborative research and flight testing, HIFiRE aims to address the scientific and engineering challenges associated with hypersonic travel, paving the way for future high-speed aerospace advancements.
