Hierapolis

Hierapolis was an ancient city in Phrygia, located in modern-day Turkey, renowned for its thermal mineral springs. Founded in the 2nd century BC, it became a hub for healing and relaxation, attracting visitors to its therapeutic waters and beautiful travertine terraces, created by calcium deposits from the springs. The city also featured significant structures, including temples, a theater, and a necropolis. Hierapolis is often associated with early Christianity, as it became an important Christian center. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its historical significance and stunning landscapes.
