HFref (Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction)
Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFrEF) is a condition where the heart's ability to pump blood effectively is decreased. Normally, the heart pumps out a healthy portion of blood with each beat, but in HFrEF, this ejection fraction drops below 40%. This means the heart can't supply enough oxygen-rich blood to meet the body's needs, leading to symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, and fluid buildup. It often results from damage to the heart muscle due to conditions like heart attacks or long-term high blood pressure. Treatment aims to improve heart function and manage symptoms.
