Herzuma
Herzuma (also known as trastuzumab) is a targeted cancer therapy used primarily to treat breast and stomach cancers that overexpress the HER2 protein. HER2 is a receptor on cancer cells that promotes their growth. Herzuma works by attaching to this receptor, blocking signals that tell the cancer cells to grow and divide. This can slow or stop the cancer’s progression. It is often used with chemotherapy for more effective treatment. Herzuma has improved outcomes for patients with HER2-positive cancers but may have side effects, so doctors carefully monitor its use.
