Herz (Heinrich Hertz)
Heinrich Hertz was a scientist who confirmed the existence of electromagnetic waves, now called radio waves, in the late 19th century. His experiments showed that these waves travel at the speed of light and can be harnessed for wireless communication. The unit "hertz" (Hz) is named after him and measures the repetition rate of wave frequencies—how many wave cycles occur per second. For example, a radio station broadcasts at a specific frequency measured in hertz. Hertz’s work laid the foundation for modern wireless technologies such as radio, television, and cell phones.
