Hernia

A hernia occurs when an internal organ or tissue pushes through a weakened area of muscle or surrounding tissue wall. Commonly, this results in a bulge or swelling that may cause discomfort or pain. Hernias can develop in areas like the groin, abdomen, or near surgical scars. They often occur due to strain, heavy lifting, or genetic weakness, but can also develop gradually. While some hernias are small and manageable, others may require medical intervention to prevent complications such as tissue strangulation or restricted blood flow. Treatment typically involves surgery to repair the weakened area and restore normal organ placement.
