Heritable traits

Heritable traits are characteristics passed from parents to their offspring through genes, which are units of DNA. These traits include features like eye color, height, or other physical and biological attributes. The genes carry instructions that influence how these traits develop, and because they can be inherited, family members often share similar characteristics. Heritability refers to how much of the variation in a trait within a population is due to genetic differences. While environment also plays a role, heritable traits are primarily determined by the genetic information received from parents.
